Food is so basic that we often take it for granted—until we can’t.
In the Philippines, every meal tells a story. It’s the farmer up before dawn. The driver racing to beat the heat so vegetables stay fresh. The cook in the carinderia feeding workers on a tight budget. The mother figuring out how to make a kilo of rice last.
But there’s another story many don’t see. One where farmers can’t afford their own harvest. Where typhoons wipe out months of work. Where logistics costs eat profits before food even hits the market. Where food security is a promise, not a reality.
That’s why this space exists.
“Food: Facts and Plans” is where I share:
Facts about our food system—from supply chains to farmgate realities.
Stories from my own work at One Farmvest, supporting farmers and improving distribution.
Plans and ideas for making things better—not grand promises, but practical steps anyone can understand.
I believe food security is not just a government responsibility. It’s a shared mission. Whether you’re a farmer, business owner, policymaker, or simply someone who wants your kids to eat well tomorrow, you’re part of this story.
In these pages, expect honesty. The good, the bad, and the possible. My hope is simple: that by understanding food better, we can plan better. Together.
Welcome to Food: Facts and Plans. Let’s dig in.
